From Design to Defense:
Despite pursuing a degree in design from the University of Pennsylvania, Mike's path took a different turn, leading him to over 20 years in the Defense Communications industry. However, the love for woodworking never faded. It was in 2022, when Mike's son, John Barthlow, expressed a similar interest, that the idea of a family woodworking business was born.
Nurturing Creativity Through Generations:
Since 2022, Barthlow Boards has been a testament to the intergenerational transfer of creativity. Experimenting part-time with different designs and collections, the Barthlow family has sought to find their niche in the vast woodworking market.
Etsy and Craft Fairs: Sharing Our Passion:
In 2023, we decided to invest more time in our business, launching an Etsy site and actively participating in craft fairs throughout Virginia.
